hippocampus is a two part series, one film and one digital, that is my personal retelling of my struggles with mental health and memory. This series touches upon the effects a concussion can have on mental health , amplifying issues such as depression and anxiety.
The first series was manipulated in a dark room by layering photograms over images to create an image that progressively loses detail. This loss of detail is meant to represent the loss of details within memories.
The second series is very linear and is meant to be read as a book. The book begins with background information on concussions and progresses as each sticky note represents a new chapter of my struggles. Adapting to and navigating my situation, I work to overcome my memory loss.
