Frequently Asked Questions
Scheduling
How do I book a photo session?
Email joecardozamedia@gmail.com to inquire about your desired date.
When should I book?
I recommend that clients book with me at least three months in advance to ensure the availability of their desired date, especially if it is during the busy season of May — August. However, I will gladly accept clients on shorter notice if my schedule allows.
What happens if I need to reschedule?
If a client reschedules their photo session, especially on short notice, I cannot guarantee my availability. However, I will work with clients to find alternative dates when possible.
Payment
How do I get a quote?
Please see my Pricing page for details. Clients must email joecardozamedia@gmail.com to receive a customized quote.
Why is there a deposit, and how much is it?
A deposit secures clients’ reservation for their photo session date and time. I require a 25% deposit of the quoted session cost when clients schedule photo sessions, and the deposit is non-refundable.
When is full payment due?
Full payment is due after a photo session is completed. Payment must be given on the day of the session (either before or immediately after the session is completed).
Photo Rights and Sharing
What are permissible uses of my edited photos?
Clients will receive full access to the final edited set of photos to download, print, and otherwise use for personal and commercial purposes.
Photos cannot be altered by individuals other than the photographer by digital editing, filters, or other means.
Clients are encouraged to tag my social media or website when they post photos on social media. For example, the link to my website can be included in posts: www.joecardoza.media
I reserve the right to publish photos of clients on my social media and website portfolio. For photos including minors, however, I will always abide by the preference of guardians.
Final Product Expectations
How are photo service requests finalized?
I meet with clients prior to booking their photo session to finalize their photo service request. All details of the service will be included in invoices, including information such as the number of photos or hours of event coverage.
If a client requests adjustments to the number of photos, hours of coverage, schedule, or other aspects of the photo session after an invoice is delivered, I cannot guarantee my ability to fulfill these changes.
I am not required to fulfill requests for more edited photos than agreed upon in invoices. If more photos are delivered by client request, clients must pay for additional photos.
Can I request any unedited photos?
I do not deliver raw/unedited photos, which aligns with industry standard, protects my brand, and maintains my standards of quality. Requests for “all or some raw or unedited photos” will be denied without exception.
Delivery
When will I receive my edited photos?
I determine the timeline for delivering photos on a case-by-case basis. I inform clients of their expected delivery date and provide updates throughout the editing process to inform clients of my progress.
How do I receive my photos?
I deliver photos with a private link that is sent via email and text. Clients must download their photos and store files on their own devices as soon as possible. I do not store files in perpetuity, so clients must plan to independently store files shortly after delivery.
Safety
Clients are expected to arrange their transportation to destination photoshoots as I do not drive individuals in my vehicle.
In all photo shoots involving minors (children under 18 years old), a guardian must be present to supervise their child.
Clients with pets are expected to bring a leash and other necessities for their companions such as water bottles, food, and poop bags.
